Repsol Allies with Stonepeak on Solar, Storage Portfolio in First U.S. Renewables Partnership

Vinson & Elkins advised Stonepeak, a leading alternative investment firm focused on infrastructure and real assets, in its $340 million acquisition from Repsol of a 46.3% interest in a 777 MW portfolio of operating solar and battery storage projects.

The portfolio, located in New Mexico and Texas, is valued at approximately $795 million, including $60 million in previously raised tax equity. The deal marks Stonepeak’s first partnership with Repsol in the U.S. renewables sector.
