Vinson & Elkins Chief Innovation Officer Aubrey Bishai was featured in Law.com’s coverage of LegalTech Connect’s 2026 Knowledge Management & Innovation for Legal Conference in New York. Bishai spoke on the session “How Innovation Teams Adapt When Lawyers Vibe Code Their Own Tools,” which examined how innovation teams can support lawyers who build their own AI tools.
Bishai described the “VIBE check,” a framework for evaluating whether a vibe-coded tool has staying power. The framework weighs the value of the problem being solved and how many people it affects, a quick technology check for integrity, a build, buy, or back decision, and endurance, including who will own and scale the tool over time. She noted the firm can “back the vibe-coded thing as long as there’s an owner.”
