Vinson & Elkins’ Energy Regulatory practice brings a range of experience — litigation skills, transactional knowledge, and an understanding of varying regulatory regimes — to whatever the regulatory challenge may be. For decades, we have successfully represented our clients before numerous federal agencies and related entities, including the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), Texas Reliability Entity (Texas RE), and the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT).
Our team focuses on the representation of energy clients, including counseling and representing clients in connection with the federal and state regulation of electric utilities, federal and state development and enforcement of physical and cyber electric reliability standards, and implementation of smart grid initiatives.
