Ryan is a member of V&E’s worldwide Energy Transactions and Projects practice group. His principal areas of practice are project development and finance, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures. Ryan has broad experience with project and infrastructure construction and development in multiple sectors of the energy industry, including LNG, downstream and chemicals, marine, upstream, pipelines, and power generation (including solar, wind and other clean tech).

Gulf Coast Ammonia as project counsel in the development and financing of a world-scale ammonia project in Texas, including the negotiation of a $574.3 million debt package from a consortium of nine commercial banks (Proximo’s 2019 North American Petrochemicals Deal of the Year)
Sixth Street in its investment in the San Antonio Spurs NBA franchise
Plains All American in the $850 million divestiture of its Pine Prairie and Southern Pines natural gas storage facilities to an affiliate of Hartree Partners
Buckeye Partners and Nala Renewables in their acquisition of a majority interest in Swift Current Energy, a leading North American clean energy development and investment platform with a pipeline of over 6 GW of solar, wind and energy storage projects
Chevron Phillips Chemical Company in connection with a joint venture with QatarEnergy to develop an $8.5 billion integrated polymers facility in Orange, Texas

Abeinsa Juárez N-III as project counsel in operations of the 907 MW Norte III natural gas fired combined-cycle power plant, operating in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico (ongoing)
Jefferson Gulf Coast Energy Partners in the development of the 14 mile Southern Star Pipeline and the 5.8 mile Jefferson Cushing-Permian Basin Crude Connector crude pipeline in the Beaumont, Texas area
Tyr Energy, Inc. in a $530 million secured revolving credit facility in connection with financing the development, construction and operation of a 1000 MW natural gas-fired combined cycle electric generation facility located in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania (2017 IJGlobal North American Power Deal of the Year)
GTL Americas as project counsel to the Arkansas GTL Project, a $3.5 billion landmark gas-to-liquids project in Arkansas
Heliogen in an arrangement with Woodside Energy (USA) to jointly market Heliogen’s solar energy technology in Australia for heat, power and possible hydrogen applications and the commercial-scale demonstration deployment at a proposed facility in Mojave, California
