Paige’s practice focuses on the federal income tax aspects of business transactions, particularly in the real estate industry. She advises real estate investment trusts (REITs), private equity sponsors, and other investors on a variety of tax matters, including tax planning associated with equity and mortgage REITs, qualified opportunity zones, capital markets transactions and IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, reorganizations, and financings.

  • Highwoods Properties, Inc. as special tax counsel in its $400 million public offering of investment grade senior notes and its concurrent tender offer

  • Alpine Income Property Trust, Inc. in its $143 million initial public offering of common stock

  • NorthStar Realty Europe Corp. as special tax counsel in its merger with Core Paneuro 2019 13 Sarl

  • WildHorse Resource Development in its $4 billion sale to Chesapeake Energy

  • CYS Investments, an agency mortgage REIT, in its merger with Two Harbors Investment Corp., a leading hybrid mortgage REIT

  • Oncor Electric Delivery Company in its $2.2 billion acquisition of InfraREIT

  • Underwriters to National Retail Properties, Inc. in its $700 million public offering of senior notes 

  • New York Mortgage Trust, Inc. in its $89 million public offering of common stock 

  • Virtua Partners (US) as special tax counsel in the formation of a QOZ fund focused on renovating, rebranding, and operating a hotel in Pensacola, Florida

  • Workforce Equity in advising on structuring a set of QOZ funds in multi-family housing industry

  • Devon Energy Corp. in the $3.125 billion sale of ownership interests in EnLink Midstream Partners and EnLink Midstream to Global Infrastructure Partners

  • Global Atlantic Financial Group in the $1.175 billion acquisition from Southern Power of a 33 percent minority interest in its solar portfolio (comprised of 26 operating solar facilities representing approximately 1.7 gigawatts of capacity)
