Maria is a member of V&E’s worldwide Energy Transactions and Projects practice group. She represents project sponsors and financial institutions on the financing, acquisition, and development of major energy, power, and infrastructure projects, with a focus on renewable energy. Prior to joining the firm, Maria worked in the project finance practice at a major law firm in New York City, NY. Maria has also previously worked in the dispute resolution group at a major law firm in Frankfurt, Germany and with project development at regional firms in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

  • Lenders in a $1.1 billion Climate Bond Certified refinancing of a portfolio of geothermal power plants in California

  • Lenders in a $205 million Climate Bond Certified financing for the acquisition of a solar portfolio of over 20 projects across the U.S.

  • Lenders in a $158.25 million term loan A financing for the construction of a wind power plant in Minnesota

  • Lenders in a $90 million note refinancing following a debt restructuring of a solar portfolio

  • A pipeline owner in a $1.75 billion hybrid bank/ bond financing for the construction of a gas pipeline in Texas

  • Lenders in a $918 million financing for the acquisition of a pipeline in Pennsylvania

  • A direct lender in a $150 million term loan A financing for the construction of gas storage facilities in Texas

  • Lenders in the back leveraged construction financing of a green-fueled cryptocurrency mining facility and data center in Pennsylvania
