John is a litigator whose practice focuses on complex commercial disputes and regulatory investigations. He has represented plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal litigation, commercial arbitration, adversary bankruptcy proceedings, and government investigations.
Experience Highlights
(C.D. Cal.) – Represented a national insurance provider in litigation against the California Department of Insurance contesting the constitutionality of a conservation order
(S.D.N.Y.) – Represented a major financial institution in a set of antitrust class actions alleging manipulation of the price of precious metals
(Bankr. Del.) – Represented second-lien noteholders in an adversary bankruptcy proceeding against an entertainment company debtor
(N.Y. Sup. Ct.) – Represented market insurers in litigation stemming from the bankruptcy of a foreign oil refinery
(E.D.N.Y.) – Represented the investor limited partner in a federal low-income housing tax credit partnership in litigation with the general partner
(S.D.N.Y.) – Represented the wealth management division of a major financial institution in litigation and arbitration concerning complex securities transactions
Represented individuals and entities in non-public investigations conducted by the DOJ, NYAG, and other law enforcement agencies
Represented indigent criminal defendants, pro bono, under the Criminal Justice Act
