Harry is a partner based out of the Houston office, who focuses his practice on national restructuring and reorganization matters. He has extensive experience representing various parties in out-of-court restructurings and complex chapter 11 cases, both as an attorney and as an investment banker/financial advisor. Harry has represented clients in a range of industries, including manufacturing; transportation; upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors of the energy industry; oil field services; power; petrochemicals; real estate; retail; sub-prime finance; professional sports; and mass media.
Prior to joining Vinson & Elkins in 2007, Harry was co-head of the restructuring arm of a Houston-based investment bank and financial advisory firm. He was also previously a partner in the Houston office of a national law firm, and a co-founding partner of a Houston-based business bankruptcy firm.
Experience Highlights
Sable Management LLC in its capacity as an equity sponsor and certain officers and directors of Sable Permian Resources in connection with the Company’s chapter 11 cases, which resulted in a $1.3 billion credit-bid asset sale, a global settlement with key stakeholders, and confirmation of a chapter 11 plan in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas
RAAM Global Energy and its subsidiaries, an offshore and onshore E&P company, in their chapter 11 restructuring of over $300 million in debt; credit bid sale approved and plan confirmed in the first 3 months of the chapter 11 case filed in Houston, Texas
Energy XXI Ltd, a publicly-traded offshore energy E&P company, in connection with its chapter 11 cases which reduced the company’s funded debt by more than $3 billion
Goodrich Petroleum in out-of-court restructuring transactions and in-court restructuring involving the deleveraging of nearly $450 million
Co-counsel to the Houston Astros as owner and substantial creditor in connection with the involuntary chapter 11 case commenced against the Houston Regional Sports Network
Co-counsel to the Ad Hoc Committee of the holders of $1.5 billion in second lien notes in ATP Oil & Gas Corporation’s chapter 11 case
Counsel to CDX Gas, LLC, an energy exploration and production company, as debtor in possession in its chapter 11 bankruptcy case filed in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas; successful confirmed plan of reorganization for the CDX debtors remaining in chapter 11
Counsel to Spectrum Brands, Inc., a retail consumer goods company, as debtor in possession in its chapter 11 bankruptcy case filed in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Texas; plan confirmed
