Ciara Ros

Ciara is an associate in the London office and a member of the Complex Commercial Litigation practice group. Her focus is on construction disputes and international commercial arbitration. She has also advised clients on project finance, and mergers and acquisitions within the oil and gas sector. Ciara spent six months in the V&E Houston office as part of her training contract, and worked in the Dubai office for three years after qualification. She is admitted to practice as a solicitor in England and Wales.

Experience Highlights

  • Acting on a number of ICC arbitrations in connection with the design and construction of  major maritime project in Central America

  • Advising a Middle Eastern state-owned entity regarding commercial resolution of disputes and project restart strategies for a project involving the reconstruction of two oil terminals

  • Representing a Middle Eastern state-owned entity in the Dubai International Financial Centre Courts against a private company involving applications and cross-applications for enforcement and set-aside of an arbitral award

  • Represented an international structural façade consultant in ongoing payment and variation disputes in connection with the design and construction of a façade for a research facility in Saudi Arabia

  • Acted for Ukrainian oilfield services company in a dispute with Turkish shipyard over the construction of a new vessel. LCIA arbitration

  • The Republic of Iraq Ministry of Oil on a multibillion dollar development of the 1,000-kilometer Iraq-Jordan Export Pipeline Project, which will be developed on a BOOT basis. Our advice includes leading the negotiation of the Intergovernmental agreement, the BOOT contract, crude and gas offtake agreements, and project finance bankability considerations

  • A UAE-based subsidiary of a U.S. private equity firm in connection with the acquisition of an oil field services company in the UAE

  • The concessionaire in relation to concessions to build, operate and manage private aviation terminals in Jeddah airport, Riyadh airport and Dammam airport in Saudi Arabia 

  • A global telecom company in connection with the sale and leaseback of telecom towers in Asia

  • Anadarko Petroleum Corporation in its $1.075 billion disposition of its Chinese subsidiary to a wholly owned subsidiary of Brightoil Petroleum (Holdings) Limited 

  • A private equity-backed fertilizer company in the proposed development and project financing of a fertilizer production facility, including the negotiation of EPC contracts, feedstock supply and transportation agreements, offtake agreements, and the air permit

  • Warburg Pincus in evaluating the development of a crude and refined products terminal in Colombia in connection with its lead role in a $600 million line of equity investment in Zenith Energy

  • Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. in a $200 million secured revolving loan facility to finance construction of a pipeline
