Vinson & Elkins’ Wins 2025 Latin America Digital Infrastructure Deal of the Year

IJGlobal selected Aligned Data Centers’ acquisition of the Odata Group, on which Vinson & Elkins advised, as the Latin America Digital Infrastructure Deal of the Year at the IJGlobal Investor Awards 2025.

The IJGlobal Investor Awards recognize the most significant infrastructure and energy transactions to close during the judging period from August 2024 through July 2025. Winners were selected by an independent panel of judges.

Aligned Data Centers acquired the Odata Group in December 2024. The transaction included new delayed draw commitments totaling $1.025 billion, bringing total commitments under the amended credit agreement to $2.25 billion. This significant capital infusion was instrumental in enabling the acquisition from Pátria Investimentos.

The deal demonstrated legal innovation through its sophisticated multi-jurisdictional structure, integrating complex fiduciary guarantees under Brazilian law into a US-governed credit agreement. By bridging Brazilian collateral frameworks with international financing expectations, the transaction set a precedent for future cross-border infrastructure and technology investments in Latin America.
