Vinson & Elkins Hires Peter Bergan as Real Estate Partner

Firm News

Bergan advises investors, developers, and owners on complex real estate transactions, including data center developments and other large-scale infrastructure projects.

Vinson & Elkins today announced that Peter C. Bergan, Jr. has joined the firm as a New York-based partner in its Real Estate Industry practice.

Bergan focuses on data center assets, advising clients across the full lifecycle of transactions, including construction, M&A, leasing, customer arrangements, and other commercial contracts. He has also advised on complex, multibillion-dollar strategic partnerships, cross-border acquisitions, and financings spanning industrial, mining, retail, hospitality, and multifamily and single-family assets nationwide.

“Peter’s experience representing some of the nation’s largest technology and data center companies perfectly complements our fast-growing Data Center practice, which is helping clients build and scale power and data center projects globally,” said Kaam Sahely, Vinson & Elkins partner and co-head of the firm’s Transactional group.

“Vinson & Elkins represents many of the most active participants in the data center industry, and I look forward to growing my practice with a firm known for its market-leading infrastructure, power, and energy platforms,” Bergan said.

Bergan earned a bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University and a Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.

Vinson & Elkins’ Real Estate lawyers represent all facets of the real estate industry on every side of the table — including banks, insurance companies, private equity firms, and other financial institutions — making the firm uniquely positioned to guide clients and deliver strategic solutions.

The firm’s Data Center practice brings deep, cross-disciplinary experience to the transactions driving the AI data center business: joint ventures, acquisitions and dispositions, equity investments, debt financings, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts, master lease and service agreements, build-to-suit arrangements, site management agreements, service-level agreements, and more.
