Dancausa bolsters the firm’s strategic focus on Latin America, Europe, and key global infrastructure and energy markets.
Vinson & Elkins today announced that Enrique Dancausa has joined the firm as a New York-based partner in its Corporate practice.
Dancausa advises strategic corporates, infrastructure investors, and private capital sponsors on cross-border acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and investments. With a practice spanning U.S. M&A, corporate governance, and transformational deals involving Latin America, he helps global clients across the energy, infrastructure, telecommunications, industrial, and consumer sectors navigate transactions involving diverse legal, regulatory, and commercial considerations.
“Enrique’s significant experience in the power, energy, and technology sectors and his relationships across the U.S., Europe, and Latin America are a perfect fit for our work helping clients consummate complex infrastructure projects globally,” said John Grand, co-head of Vinson & Elkins’ Corporate practice.
“Enrique is a highly regarded cross-border transactional lawyer with a deep understanding of the Latin American market and the complex business dynamics that shape investments throughout the region,” said Melissa Raciti-Knapp, partner in Vinson & Elkins’ Finance practice. “His M&A and corporate experience complements our project finance capabilities exceptionally well, and together we will be even better positioned to help clients pursue strategic opportunities across the energy, infrastructure, and telecommunications sectors.”
“Vinson & Elkins has built an exceptional platform for advising clients on significant transactions and projects across the energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors,” said Dancausa. “The opportunity to join this talented team and contribute to the continued growth of the firm’s cross-border M&A capabilities was particularly compelling.”
Dancausa earned his Juris Doctor from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and a Master of Laws from New York University School of Law. A native Spanish speaker, he is recognized among the leading Corporate/M&A lawyers in Latin America by The Legal 500.
For decades, Vinson & Elkins has advised clients on landmark energy, infrastructure, finance, and M&A matters throughout Latin America, drawing on deep industry experience and strong relationships across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America to help clients navigate complex cross-border transactions, disputes, and project financings.
