Womble brings significant experience helping to develop and manage talent needs and human resources
Vinson & Elkins today announced that Leslie Womble has joined the firm as its Chief Talent Officer, effective October 5, 2026.
Womble joins from global investment firm Cambridge Associates, where she was a partner and the firm’s Chief Human Capital Officer. She is based in Dallas, where she will oversee all aspects of Vinson & Elkins’ global talent and human resources functions, including recruitment, professional learning and development, and benefits.
She has focused her career on implementing strategies to develop engaged, productive, and valued workforces, including in the areas of leadership and professional development, executive coaching, role-specific training, and employee onboarding. As an advisor to business leaders on all aspects of human resources strategy, she has designed enterprise-level programs and solutions covering compensation, performance management, and talent development.
“Leslie brings a proven track record as a business leader who understands the importance of an engaged workforce,” said Vinson & Elkins Chair Keith Fullenweider. “We know that the way our lawyers and business professionals work with and genuinely care about each other is a competitive differentiator, and I’m confident Leslie will be a champion and steward of that culture.”
“The legal industry is in a period of real change, and the firms that navigate it best will be the ones that keep their people engaged, valued, and connected,” said Vinson & Elkins Chief Operating Officer Jason Marty. “Leslie’s experience, commercial mindset, and forward-looking ideas will help ensure we remain one of the best firms for lawyers and business professionals to work and grow.”
Womble said she was drawn by the firm’s reputation for client service, its dynamic growth and connectedness. “Vinson & Elkins has built something many firms talk about but rarely achieve: An environment where collaboration is genuinely embedded in how people work,” she said. “My focus will be on ensuring that culture remains the foundation of our growth.”
Womble began her career as an investment research analyst, focusing on Hedge Fund and Credit investment managers. She earned a bachelor’s degree from American University and a Master of Business Administration from Boston University.
