Vinson & Elkins partner Roberta Downey received Law.com International’s Innovative Leader award at the 2023 Women, Influence, Power and Law (WIPL) awards ceremony.
This award recognizes women who are thinkers enacting change within their firm.
Downey, head of Vinson & Elkins’ International Construction practice group, has close to 30 years of experience in commercial dispute resolution, including large trials and highly technical disputes where teamwork together with strategic thinking, effective legal argument and detailed analysis of the evidence is required.
Since her arrival in October 2021, the firm has been recognized as Band 1 in Construction: International Arbitration by Chambers UK 2023, Tier 1 in Real Estate – Construction: Contentious by The Legal 500 UK 2023 and was named 2022 International Arbitration Team of the Year by Legal Business.
The WIPL awards “honor some of the U.K. legal industry’s most successful female lawyers and their achievements over the past year,” Law.com International notes.
