On February 5 in Houston, Vinson & Elkins hosted an insightful panel discussion in celebration of Black History Month, featuring senior legal leaders from two firm clients: Gillian Hobson of Group 1 Automotive, a Fortune 300 company and leading operator in the automotive retail industry, and Dave Cooke of ARM Energy, an energy marketing and infrastructure firm active across North America.
Moderated by Partner Quentin Smith and broadcast firmwide, the conversation explored the panelists’ career journeys, the value of mentorship and sponsorship, qualities they appreciate in outside counsel, and guidance for emerging lawyers. Both Hobson and Cooke brought energy and enthusiasm to the conversation, sharing wisdom from their lives and decades of experience in corporate law.
