Austin’s principal areas of practice are mergers and acquisitions, private equity and general corporate representation. Austin works with a variety of public and private companies as well as private equity investors and their portfolio companies in connection with mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and strategic investments.

Experience

  • Brookfield Asset Management Ltd. in connection with a preferred equity commitment to Origis USA (a portfolio company of Antin Infrastructure Partners)

  • A leading private credit investor in connection with a preferred equity like hybrid investment in a gaming company

  • Lithium Americas in its joint venture with General Motors, which will deliver $625 million of cash and letters of credit along with a $2.26 billion commitment from the DOE to advance their Thacker Pass Construction Project in Nevada, the largest known lithium deposit in the U.S.

  • Global Infrastructure Partners in its $3.9 billion joint venture with TC Energy to acquire a 40% interest in TC Energy’s Columbia Gas Transmission and Columbia Gulf Transmission systems

  • American Insulated Glass, a portfolio company of AV Capital, in its sale to Trulite Glass & Aluminum Solutions, one of North America’s largest architectural glass and aluminum fabricators

  • OJO Labs, Inc., an Austin-based real estate technology company, in the sale of OJO Canada to Royal Bank of Canada

  • StarRez, Inc., a portfolio company of Vista Equity Partners in its acquisition of Adirondack Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of college student housing software

  • A private housing software platform in its acquisition of a student housing software solution

  • OfficeSpace Software, a portfolio company of Vista Equity Partners, in its acquisition of Greetly, a customizable visitor management system
