Houston Volunteer Lawyers recognized Vinson & Elkins as an Equal Access to Justice Champion in 2026. The firm achieved this distinction by fulfilling its annual pro bono pledge, the largest of any firm or business in Houston.
Over 35 Houston attorneys helped V&E reach its goal by securing wills for seniors, clearing criminal records, resolving IRS disputes, and more. This work represents a substantial commitment to increasing access to legal services for individuals and families who might otherwise go without representation.
“Our commitment to pro bono work is rooted in ensuring that more people in our community can access the legal system,” said Pro Bono Counsel Parker Cragg. “We are proud to continue our partnership with Houston Volunteer Lawyers and to support its mission in meaningful ways.”
The Equal Access to Justice Champions program, established by the Houston Bar Association, challenges participants to take on at least one qualifying matter for every five attorneys in their Houston office. Vinson & Elkins consistently reaches this benchmark through sustained engagement and broad attorney participation.
Pro bono work remains a defining part of the firm’s culture, with lawyers across all levels contributing their time and skills to support individuals and strengthen the communities where they live and work.
