Robert focuses his practice on private equity and mergers and acquisitions. He advises private equity firms, their portfolio companies and a variety of public and private companies in connection with acquisitions, financings, joint ventures, exit transactions and general corporate matters.

  • Renewable and Sustainable Energy Fund of The Carlyle Group in the formation of a joint venture with Alchemy Renewable Energy, LLC (ARE), a renewable energy developer and tax equity arranger, together with the acquisition of certain operating and development-stage solar projects from ARE

  • TPG Growth and The Rise Fund in the acquisition of CLEAResult, the country’s leading provider of efficiency solutions for utility companies, from General Atlantic

  • Quantum Energy Partners and Post Oak Energy Capital in the $3.6 billion sale of Oryx Midstream to Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners 

  • TPG Growth in the $1.2 billion sale of Discovery Midstream to KKR and Williams

  • Covey Park Energy in its $2.2 billion sale to Comstock Resources

  • TPG Pace Energy Holdings, a Special Purpose Acquisition Company and affiliate of TPG, in the $2.66 billion acquisition of oil and gas assets from EnerVest

  • Centennial Resource Production in the approximately $1.39 billion sale of the company, a Natural Gas Partners portfolio company, to Silver Run Acquisition Corporation
