International Dispute Resolution & Arbitration
Giuliano is an associate in the International Dispute Resolution & Arbitration practice, based in our Dubai office.
He has experience working with clients on various matters of international arbitration, particularly within the energy and construction sectors. While his practice focuses on dispute resolution, Giuliano also advises clients on non-contentious matters, including the preparation and review of construction contracts for major developments in the region. He regularly supports clients with risk management and claims strategy to minimise the risk of formal disputes.
He is admitted to practice as a solicitor in England and Wales.
The following is a list of representative matters in which Giuliano has assisted.
Acting for a subcontractor in a complex and time-compressed $200 million dispute adjudication proceeding concerning the construction of power plants in South Africa; the dispute involved extensive submissions on both procedural and substantive issues
Acting for a subcontractor in respect of a $25 million remedial work claim in a parallel arbitration concerning the construction of power plants in South Africa
Acting for two Middle Eastern companies in an UNCITRAL arbitration seated in London against two Chinese companies in relation to a dispute arising out of an oil drilling rig fabrication contract
Acting for Saudi respondents in a London-seated ICC arbitration concerning multi-million-dollar breach of warranty claims arising from the purchase of an industrial processing facility
Representing a Saudi conglomerate in a DIAC arbitration seated in Dubai in respect of claims in excess of USD 50 million arising out of a Master Murabaha Agreement
Acting for a design consultant in an expert determination worth circa USD 25 million; the dispute concerns delay-related claims against the Employer arising from a landmark project in the UAE
