Japan

Vinson & Elkins opened our Tokyo office in 2004 to better serve our clients in Japan. With our Tokyo office serving as a hub, our Japan practice draws on the expertise of our global network to advise clients operating in the country across various industries, including automotive, chemical, construction, consumer electronics, energy, finance, industrials, infrastructure, medical equipment, semiconductors, and computer technology. Our lawyers have been active in the Japanese market since the late 1990s. As a result, they have developed a deep understanding of the local market and customs.
From our worldwide network we advise our Japanese and international clients with interests in the region on a wide range of transactional and litigation matters, including those involving antitrust, construction (both front-end and disputes), corporate, energy, export control, finance, infrastructure and intellectual property.
