Complex Commercial Litigation
Aamir Siddik is an energy litigator focused on guiding businesses through sophisticated disputes to achieve the best possible outcome. He has worked with clients in all sectors of the energy industry—including oil, gas, LNG, electricity, and renewables—on a wide range of actions including complex contract disputes, construction and engineering disputes, and breaches of fiduciary duties. He has won cases for clients both on the plaintiff-side and defense-side in forums across the United States, including state courts, federal courts, appellate courts, and domestic arbitration proceedings. In addition to commercial disputes, Aamir represents clients in catastrophic personal injury and property damage matters, and in class action and multidistrict litigation proceedings. Aamir’s practice touches on all aspects of dispute resolution, including advising clients before potential disputes and before any lawsuit is filed.
During his time at V&E, Aamir was seconded to a publicly-traded produced water infrastructure and services company where he served as Interim General Counsel. In that capacity, he oversaw the company’s legal function and provided strategic counsel to its executive leadership team on a broad range of corporate, commercial, litigation, and regulatory matters. This in-house tenure gives Aamir a distinct perspective on the operational and commercial realities facing energy-sector clients, allowing him to deliver practical, business-minded advice in his litigation practice.
In addition to client work, Aamir is active in bar service. He previously served as a Nominating Co-Chair of the Texas Bar Foundation and was appointed to the State Bar of Texas Administrative Rules of Evidence Committee. He also previously served as Board Secretary for the Texas Young Lawyers Association and Board Secretary of the South Asian Bar Association of Houston. Aamir is also a graduate of the State Bar of Texas leadership academy and was a member of the Institute for Energy Law’s Seventh Leadership Class.

(Tex. Dist. – Harris Cnty.; Fourteenth Court of Appeals; Supreme Court of Texas) – Representing a transmission and distribution utility in multi-district litigation arising out of Winter Storm Uri involving property damage and personal injury claims
(Tex. Dist. – Harris Cnty.; First Court of Appeals) – Representing multiple midstream gas companies in lawsuits arising out of Winter Storm Uri
(Tex. Dist. – Harris Cnty.) – Represent gas purchaser in breach of contract claims arising out of Winter Storm Uri, leading to favorable settlement
(Tex. Dist. – Harris Cnty.) – Successfully represent upstream oil and gas company in recovering misappropriated funds
(S.D. Tex.) — Successfully obtained full dismissal on behalf of Canadian upstream company on breach of contract claims
(S.D. Tex.) — Represent midstream oil logistics company in breach of contract lawsuit with its insurer
(Supreme Court of Texas) – Represent a transmission and distribution utility in claims for catastrophic personal injuries arising from downed power line
(S.D.N.Y.) – Represent state-owned oil and gas company in multiple lawsuits related to debts on promissory notes
(Ad hoc Arbitration; Tex. Dist. – Harris Cnty.; First Court of Appeals) – Represent major Australian energy company in dispute over the calculation and payment of gas royalty relating to liquified natural gas project in Eastern Australia; involved multiple arbitration proceedings and appeal proceedings remain ongoing
(ICC Arbitration) – Represent upstream business in an accounting dispute related to joint operating agreement
(N.D. Ohio) — Represent large grocery store chain pharmacies in national opioid multidistrict litigation
