Buckeye Partners & Nala Renewables Invest In Swift Current Energy
Vinson & Elkins advised Buckeye Partners, L.P. (“Buckeye”) and Nala Renewables (“Nala”) in connection with their acquisition of a majority interest in Swift Current Energy (“Swift Current”), a leading North American clean energy development and investment platform.
Swift Current currently has a pipeline of over 6 GW of solar, wind, and energy storage projects located close to U.S. demand centers in liquid power markets, over 2 GW of which is attributable to eight solar projects which are in late-stage development. The transaction will enable Swift Current to accelerate its growth plans and allow Buckeye and Nala to invest in a renewable energy platform that aligns with their business priorities while further participating in the energy transition.
The V&E corporate team was led by partners Eamon Nolan, Danielle Patterson and Matt Falcone, with assistance from senior associate Caroline Kuehn and associates Ryan Logan, Anastasia Arsenio, Sam Boyer, Zachary Parker, Erin MacMullin and Tara Tegeleci. Also advising were counsel Scot Dixon, senior associate Jared Knight and associate Kara Karcher; partner Matthew Dobbins and associate Kelly Rondinelli; partners Ryan Carney and Sean Moran, counsel Mary Alexander and Debra Duncan and senior associate Christine Mainguy; partner Sean Becker and senior associate Alex Bluebond; and counsel Julia Petty and associate Mary Daniel Morgan.
