Zoya G. Bozhko

Zoya is an associate and a member of the firm’s International Dispute Resolution & Arbitration practice group. Her experience includes both investment treaty arbitrations under ICSID Rules and commercial arbitrations, with a focus on construction disputes conducted pursuant to the ICC and ICDR Rules, and arising from large-scale construction projects of civil infrastructure (roads and airports), nuclear power plants and chemical plants.

Experience Highlights

  • Representing an international contractor consortium in an ICC arbitration against a Middle Eastern State concerning a contract for the construction of a major infrastructure project in the Middle East

  • Representing an international joint venture as Respondent and Counterclaimant in an ICDR arbitration in New York initiated by a North Asian company arising from an agreement for the construction of a chemical plant in North America; issues included delay and defective works

  • Representing a French-German consortium in an ICC arbitration in Stockholm against a Finnish utility company arising from an agreement for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Finland

  • Representing an African state as Respondent in a dispute before a Dispute Adjudication Board involving the alleged breach of a FIDIC contract governing the construction of road and water projects

  • Representing a South American state in an ICSID arbitration initiated by a UK company in relation to a farming enterprise, the claims were brought under the UK-Venezuela bilateral investment treaty

  • Advising a Turkish manufacturer in respect of a potential product liability suit against various participants in a global supply chain

  • Conducting an internal investigation of Brazilian company to assist in preparing defense to potential Government investigation under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act
