Wes’ practice focuses on representing entrepreneurs and venture capital investors in the formation, financing and operation of technology and growth companies. He also advises emerging companies with respect to strategic transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, spin-outs, and buying and selling assets, in addition to general corporate and governance matters.

Prior to practicing law, Wes obtained significant business experience.  His work ranged from managing the marketplace sales and operations of a Fortune 500 company to being responsible for all aspects of a successful, locally-owned restaurant.

  • ForeFlight, a leading provider of mobile and web-based aviation applications, in its acquisition by Boeing

  • Wikibuy, an automated online shopping comparison platform, in its acquisition by Capital One

  • MoneyGram in its strategic agreement with Ripple to utilize XRP, Ripple’s blockchain-based digital currency, in MoneyGram’s cross-border payments process; Transaction also involved a $50 million investment by Ripple in Moneygram’s common stock and warrants

  • DISCO, a legal technology company that applies artificial intelligence and cloud computing to legal problems, in its $83 million investment round led by Georgian Partners

  • Multiple venture capital fund investments in early-stage companies in software, hardware, digital media, cybersecurity, hospitality, consumer products, energy technology and other industries

  • Vyze, a point-of-sale financing technology platform for retailers, in its acquisition by Mastercard

  • OutboundEngine, a provider of marketing software for businesses, in a Series C-1 financing round from S3 Ventures, Silverton Partners, Floodgate, Noro-Moseley, Capital Factory, Harmony Partners and Altos Ventures and venture loan from Horizon Technology Finance Corp.

  • CognitiveScale, an AI enterprise software company, in over $50 million of venture capital financing from Norwest Venture Partners, Intel Capital, Microsoft Ventures, The Westly Group, USAA, IBM and others

  • Vapor IO, a company providing hardware and software solutions to data centers, in its Series C financing led by Berkshire Partners

  • ALTR Solutions, a developer of blockchain-powered information security software, in its $15 million Series A financing

  • Pensa Systems, a provider of autonomous perception systems for inventory visibility, in rounds of debt and equity financing

  • The Guild, a company that turns upscale apartments into tech-enabled hotel suites, in its Series A financing led by Maveron

  • One Tech, Inc., an IoT solutions company for OEMs, network operators and enterprises, in over $10 million of strategic financing transactions

  • Swivel, an online service where companies can find and design their own plug-and-play workspace and pay for it on flexible terms, in its $4.75 million seed financing led by First Round Capital
