Thomas W. Bohnett

Thomas is an associate in the Complex Commercial Litigation practice group. He concentrates his practice on antitrust, class actions, and contractual disputes. Thomas also has experience in antitrust counselling and merger review by antitrust enforcement agencies.

Litigation

  • Representing a U.S. technology company in a series of global competition investigations

  • (D.D.C.) Currently representing an airline in In re Domestic Airline Travel Antitrust Litigation, an MDL putative class action alleging that the major airlines conspired to restrict domestic capacity, as well as parallel federal and state investigations and litigation in Canada (assisted)

  • (N.D. Ga.) Successfully represented an airline in In re Delta/AirTran Baggage Fee Antitrust Litigation, an MDL putative class action alleging price-fixing of checked baggage fees, where plaintiffs sought more than $1 billion in damages before trebling (assisted)

  • (N.D. Cal.) Currently representing a major Japanese electronics company and its U.S. subsidiary in two nationwide antitrust class actions and three opt-out lawsuits involving allegations of price-fixing in the lithium ion battery industry (assisted)

  • (Ct. Fd. Cl.) Represented over 225 dialysis clinics in litigation against the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for years of underpayment for dialysis services provided to veterans pursuant to federal regulations and contracts; secured a close-to-trial settlement of $538 million (net) (assisted)

  • Represented an airline in connection with litigation and regulatory proceedings to obtain landing rights at slot constrained airports (assisted)

  • Led team that won withholding of removal for Honduran asylum-seeker
