
Susanna Fidoe


Susanna is a member of the International Dispute Resolution Practice. Susanna has acted in numerous international arbitrations and has knowledge and experience of different legal systems and various institutional administrative rules including ICC, SIAC, UNCITRAL, and LCIA. Susanna’s principal areas of practice to date have been energy, construction and infrastructure. Susanna also has experience of commercial disputes and High Court Proceedings. Susanna enhanced her experience through an in-house litigation position at a leading oil and gas company. Following this, she spent 20 months overseas advising the Panama Canal in relation to disputes before the DAB and ICC arbitrations arising out of the Third Set of Locks Contract of the Panama Canal Expansion Program.
Experience Highlights
Acting on a number of multi-billion dollar complex infrastructure ICC arbitrations in connection with the design and construction of the Panama Canal Third Set of Locks Project including helping to manage and coordinate the strategy and work streams for these disputes
Representing a major Turkish conglomerate in ICC arbitration proceedings arising out of the disputed termination of one of the EPC contracts relating to the Marmaray Project in Istanbul (FIDIC Silver Book based)
Representing a private equity fund in ICC arbitration proceedings to require specific performance of shareholders arrangements ultimately concerning a hydrocarbons block in the Middle East
Representing a buyer, a UK FTSE 100 company, in connection with a North Sea gas price expert determination
Advising a principal contractor on strategy for a construction project in which the employer had become insolvent
Advising a Chinese manufacturer of solar panels in a dispute with a Spanish purchaser
Represented an oilfield services company against a rig management subcontractor in ICC arbitration proceedings
Represented a Middle East commodities exchange in DIFC Court proceedings relating to the termination of a member’s interest on the exchange
Providing general ad hoc project management advice for the owner of a power plant in Tunisia
Acting for the prime contractor in four construction adjudications worth in excess of £20 million concerning works carried out on two flue gas desulphurisation plants
Representing an American company in an LCIA arbitration against a Saudi Arabian company and its Indian subsidiary. The dispute arose out of a supply contract for the manufacture of train parts
Advising an international consortium of expert engine manufacturers in an ICC arbitration against the plane manufacturer. The engineering dispute centered around delay and failure to meet contractual milestones and liquidated damages
Representing a large Turkish corporation in an ICC arbitration relating to guarantees provided under an outsourcing agreement. The seat of arbitration was Austria and the governing law of contract was Turkish
Advising a joint venture of a South African mining company and an Australian mining company on possible defences to claims arising from the construction and development of a minerals plant in Mozambique
