Scott is the Managing Partner of the firm. He has an active practice focused on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, private equity investments, and contests for corporate control.

Scott has represented many of the firm’s private equity clients such as Warburg Pincus, SCF Partners, and Pine Brook Road Partners for more than a decade, and has also represented many public companies, including several Fortune 500 companies, with respect to corporate governance advice and equity and debt offerings. He has represented clients in all aspects of the energy industry and has also achieved success for clients in a broad range of other industries, including financial services, aviation, and manufacturing.

  • Warburg Pincus in its $1.125 billion line of equity joint investment in Venari Resources, an early-stage company focused on deep water exploration and production in the Gulf of Mexico

  • Pine Brook Road Partners in its $400 million line of equity commitment to Elevation Resources Holdings, an exploration and production company focused on oil and liquids resources in the Permian Basin

  • Pine Brook Road Partners in its $400 million line of equity commitment to Forge Energy, an oil and gas exploration and production company focused on developing domestic onshore oil and gas resources, both conventional and unconventional

  • SCF Partners in its combination of five portfolio companies to form Forum Energy Technologies, a provider of manufactured and applied products to the energy industry, and simultaneous investment in the combined company

  • Oil States International in its $650 million acquisition of The MAC Services Group, a publicly traded Australia-based operator of remote-area mining accommodations

  • Global Oilfield Services, a Pine Brook Road Partners portfolio company, in its $200 million sale to Halliburton Energy Services

  • Spinnaker Exploration in the $2.5 billion sale of the company to Norsk Hydro

  • Hanover Compressor Company in its $2 billion combination with Universal
