Experience Highlights
Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners in its acquisition of the Red Oak Power Plant, an 805 MW combined cycle, natural gas-fired generation facility, from Cogentrix, an affiliate of the Carlyle Group
Global Atlantic Financial Group in the $1.175 billion acquisition from Southern Power of a 33 percent minority interest in its solar portfolio (comprised of 26 operating solar facilities representing approximately 1.7 gigawatts of capacity)
Riverstone Holdings in its $5.2 billion take-private of Talen Energy Corporation, one of the largest independent power producers in the U.S. with a portfolio of power plants totaling approximately 16,000 MW, and associated debt financings
Consortium of certain new money equity investors, including Avenue Capital, in the announced over $18 billion acquisition and restructuring of Energy Future Holdings and Oncor, the largest transmission and distribution utility in Texas, and the conversion of the companies into a REIT
Riverstone Holdings in the $9.5 billion formation of Talen Energy Corporation, one of the largest independent power producers in the U.S., through a Reverse Morris Trust spin-off of PPL Corporation’s merchant power generation business and the concurrent combination thereof with Riverstone’s merchant power generation business and associated debt financings
Huntsman Corporation in its $1.1 billion acquisition of the performance additives and titanium dioxide businesses of Rockwood Holdings
Riverstone Holdings in its $400 million acquisition of three coal-fired generating plants located in Maryland from a subsidiary of Exelon Corporation
Wayzata Investment Partners in the $625 million sale by its portfolio company, MinnTex Power Holdings, of its 1,050 MW, combined-cycle power plant in Guadalupe County, Texas to Calpine Corporation
