In practice for more than 35 years, Michael Saslaw focuses
on mergers and acquisitions as well as governance matters for clients across
the country and around the world. Public and private companies, private equity
sponsors, and other investors turn to Michael to handle complicated deals,
including cross-border transactions and joint ventures that involve multiple
jurisdictions and parties. He is also experienced in securities offerings,
financings, distressed investments, restructurings and corporate counseling.
Michael represents clients in an array of industries, including
technology, infrastructure, energy, transportation and financial services. He has
worked on a number of headline-making matters, such as Trimble Inc.’s
acquisition of Google’s Sketch-Up 3D and Oaktree Capital Management's redevelopment
and operation of the second air terminal at Austin-Bergstrom International
Airport. For each representation, Michael assembles and oversees a team of
attorneys from various practice areas and offices. Once a deal is complete, his
work isn’t necessarily done: He also often helps clients to manage a
transaction’s integration and navigate any issues that may arise post-closing.
With every matter, Michael adopts a client-centric mindset,
eschewing formulaic fixes in favor of more tailored approaches. He works to
gain a deep understanding of his clients’ businesses and goals and also to
gather insights from colleagues across the firm’s practice areas. The results
are creative solutions that directly address his clients’ priorities, uniquely
fit their needs and fuel their continued success.
