Daniel’s practice focuses primarily on corporate and securities transactions for public companies, private companies, investment banks, and private equity firms and other institutions.

involving property and mortgage real estate investment trusts (REITs) and other
real estate-related and specialty finance companies. His practice includes
acting as issuer’s counsel and as underwriters’ counsel in initial public
offerings (IPOs) and other public and private offerings of equity and debt
securities, representing acquirers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions,
representing clients in joint venture formations and other real estate
monetization transactions, representing private equity sponsors and other
private entities in structuring and completing pre-IPO formation transactions,
advising companies on SEC compliance matters, and advising management teams and
boards on corporate governance matters. Daniel has been
ranked in Chambers USA for REITs (Nationwide) from 2007-2016, and in Legal
500 U.S. Real Estate and Construction in 2015 and 2007. Daniel
serves as the managing partner of the Richmond office.
