Vinson & Elkins is representing DigitalBridge Group, Inc., a global investment fund that owns, operates and invests across the full spectrum of digital Infrastructure, on its entry into a joint venture with Brookfield Infrastructure for the purpose of acquiring a 51% ownership stake in GD Towers.

GD Towers is Germany’s largest tower company, owning and operating over 33,000 towers and communication sites in Germany and over 7,000 towers and communication sites in Austria. Deutsche Telekom will retain a minority 49% ownership stake in GD Towers following the completion of the transaction.

The transaction values GD Towers at €17.5 billion, and is Germany’s largest and Europe’s second largest transaction this year.

This transaction is the fifth digital infrastructure transaction announced in the last four months alone in which V&E was involved. Such transactions amount to almost $35 billion in aggregate.

The V&E team was led by partner Gabriel Silva and senior associate Miguel Colebrook.
