Steve Medlock to Serve as Session Chair and Moderator at ABA's 2024 Antitrust Spring Meeting

Antitrust partner Steve Medlock will serve as Session Chair and Moderator of the panel “NIL After Alston: Wild West?” at this year’s American Bar Association 73rd Antitrust Spring Meeting in Washington DC. The Antitrust Spring Meeting is the largest gathering of competition, consumer protection, and data privacy professionals globally and gathers lawyers, academics, economists, enforcers, journalists, and students from around the world.

The speakers of the “NIL After Alston: Wild West?” panel will cover how Alston and O’Bannon helped open a market for college athletes’ names, images, and likenesses that did not exist 10 years ago and will explore how college athletes, universities, and conferences are navigating the antitrust implications of group licensing, transfers, and recruiting in the NIL era.
