Jake is a member of Vinson & Elkins’ worldwide Corporate practice group. His principal areas of practice are project development, complex commercial agreements, joint ventures, and mergers and acquisitions. Jake has experience in multiple sectors of the energy industry, including electric power, LNG, midstream oil and gas, and renewables.

Talen Energy Corporation (NASDAQ: TLN) on its 1,920 MW power purchase agreement and associated arrangements with Amazon Web Services to provide carbon-free energy from Talen’s Susquehanna nuclear power plant to support AMZN’s announced $20 plus billion dollar data center build out in Pennsylvania
Power project developers and operators, utilities, and end-users in the negotiation of PPAs and other power project development matters
Brookfield Asset Management Ltd. in connection with a preferred equity commitment to Origis USA (a portfolio company of Antin Infrastructure Partners)
Power project developers, data center developers, and AI companies on power supply issues for different digital infrastructure projects around the country
New Fortress Energy in the $1.055 billion sale to Excelerate Energy, Inc. of its Jamaican businesses, including an LNG import terminal in Montego Bay, offshore floating storage and regasification terminal in Old Harbour, and 150 MW Combined Heat and Power Plant in Clarendon, along with the associated infrastructure
LNG suppliers, purchasers, and marketers in the negotiation of LNG SPAs, tolling agreements, and gas supply arrangements
Kimmeridge in its acquisition of Commonwealth LNG, a project company developing an LNG liquefaction and export facility
Golden Pass LNG in the restructuring and renegotiation of its EPC arrangements for the completion of the Golden Pass LNG project, following the bankruptcy of Zachry Holdings
Targa Resources Corporation in its establishment of a joint venture with WPC Parent, LLC in respect of the 2.5 Bcf/d Blackcomb Pipeline in Texas
Trace Midstream Partners, a portfolio company of Quantum Capital Group, in its acquisition of LM Energy Delaware’s natural gas gathering and transportation assets in the Northern Delaware Basin
Terminal operator in contracting arrangements for the terminalling, storage, and export of LPGs, bunkering fuels and other petrochemicals
