Vinson & Elkins Honored as 2025 Equal Access to Justice Champions by Houston Volunteer Lawyers

These matters spanned a wide range of legal issues—from family law to tax disputes—and provided critical support to individuals facing serious legal challenges without the means to pay for counsel. Through this work, Vinson & Elkins helped expand access to justice for Houstonians in urgent need.

The Equal Access to Justice Champions Program was launched by the Houston Bar Association in 2006 to support the placement of Houston Volunteer Lawyers cases with pro bono volunteers. Through this initiative, law firms, corporate legal departments, and solo practitioners commit to accepting one pro bono case each year for every five attorneys in their Houston office, helping expand access to legal services for those who can’t afford them.
