V&E Named Top Shareholder Activism Defense Practice by Activist Insight for Fifth Consecutive Year
Vinson & Elkins’ Shareholder Activism practice has been recognized by Activist Insight as tied for the No. 1 ranking for public company defense. This marks the 5th year in a row that V&E’s Shareholder Activism practice has received Activist Insight’s highest issuer defense ranking.
Most recently, V&E was also awarded the No. 1 ranking for company and board representation based on number of campaigns defended for the first half of 2020 by Refinitiv (Thomson Reuters). Additionally, V&E was ranked among the top firms in the nation for Shareholder Activism – Advice to Boards in the Legal 500 U.S. 2020 guide. The guide also recognized Lawrence Elbaum and Patrick Gadson, co-heads of the firm’s Shareholder Activism practice, based in New York – Elbaum as one of only two “Next Generation Partners” in the category and Gadson as a recommended practitioner. Sources laud Elbaum for “unsurpassed experience in, and knowledge of, this space,” and Gadson as “just the best” and a “go-to legal advisor” for activism defense situations.
Comprising approximately 30 attorneys, V&E’s Shareholder Activism practice leverages the firm’s top-tier public company, M&A, corporate governance and litigation practices, to defend public companies and their board in proxy fights and other high-stakes matters for corporate control.
