Scott’s principal area of practice is major construction and infrastructure, and his most recent experience includes advising the Panama Canal Authority in relation to various disputes arising out of the $5.25 billion Panama Canal Expansion Program.
Prior to joining Vinson & Elkins, Scott acted in a number of high-profile construction litigation cases in Australia, appearing before the Queensland and New South Wales Supreme Courts. He also has significant experience providing strategic and commercially focused advice to clients on the drafting and negotiation of various standard form and bespoke contracts.
Scott is qualified and admitted to practice in Australia where he worked for more than four years in a real estate, construction and infrastructure disputes practice group of a top-tier international law firm.
Prior to joining the firm, Scott worked for an international consulting engineering firm and spent several years practicing as in-house solicitor, where he oversaw all legal matters within his jurisdiction.
He has practiced across a range of disciplines, including mining, oil and gas, environment, building engineering, major infrastructure, water and transportation.
