V&E is sponsoring client Edison Electric Institute’s (EEI) 2024 Spring Legal Conference. EEI is the association that represents all U.S. investor-owned electric companies. Their members provide electricity for nearly 250 million Americans, and operate in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

On Thursday, April 11 at 10:45 am PT, partner Jeremy Marwell will speak on a panel titled, “The Supreme Court and Deference to Administrative Agencies.” This panel will review the recent oral arguments in the Relentless and Loper Bright cases regarding Chevron deference and the role of federal administrative agencies and the courts in interpreting ambiguous statutory language. The discussion will also assess potential outcomes and the implications for key regulations for the power sector. Partner Jeffrey Jakubiak, counsel Jennifer Mansh, and senior associate Andrew DeVore will also attend the conference.

EEI’s Spring Legal Conference is an annual meeting for the general counsels of shareholder-owned electricity companies to receive updates on new laws and trends in the electric power sector. To learn more, click here.
