Ruairi is an associate in the London Energy Transactions & Projects practice. He has advisory and transactional experience in project development and finance, cross border M&A, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts and general corporate work, primarily in the energy and infrastructure sectors. He previously worked for an upstream onshore drilling contractor with operations across the Middle East.

Experience Highlights
Global Infrastructure Partners in its $1.1 billion acquisition of a 50 percent interest in the South Fork and Revolution Offshore Wind Projects from Eversource Energy, including the negotiation of the joint venture arrangements with Orsted for the construction and operation of the projects, and the acquisition and construction financing in connection with GIP’s ownership in the projects (pending)
SOCAR and its subsidiary SOCAR Turkey in connection with a $1.3 billion equivalent syndicated loan facility to refinance existing financial liabilities. At the time of signing the transaction represented the largest syndicated loan arrangement completed in 2021 by a non-financial company in Turkey and was “Syndicated Loan of the Year” according to Bonds, Loans & ESG Capital Markets CEE, CIS & Türkiye Awards
Funds managed by Apollo in the $2 billion sale by New Fortress Energy Inc. of 11 LNG infrastructure vessels to a newly formed venture owned approximately 80% by Apollo funds and 20% by NFE
A subsidiary of a Middle Eastern national oil company on a series of transactions to acquire jack-up drilling units from multiple sellers
STAR Rafineri A.Ş. a subsidiary of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and its sponsors in relation to its $6.3 billion oil refinery in Turkey on the Aegean Sea
DigitalBridge in its lead investment of £295 million in Netomnia, a provider of full fibre broadband infrastructure, and internet service provider YouFibre
Quantum Energy Partners in its acquisition of an interest in Trident Energy, an international upstream operator with assets in Equatorial Guinea and Brazil, from affiliates of Warburg Pincus, and commitment of additional funding to Trident of up to $400 million
Uzbekistan GTL and Uzbekneftegas on the sale to Air Products of a natural gas-to-syngas processing facility in the Kashkadarya Region, Uzbekistan for US$1 billion. This sale is the largest M&A transaction in Uzbekistan’s history
