Vinson & Elkins Promotes 8 To Counsel

Vinson & Elkins has named eight new counsel. The promotions span four offices and five practice areas, including: appellate; complex commercial litigation; employment, labor and OSHA; finance; and mergers & acquisitions and capital markets.

The following lawyers were promoted from senior associate to counsel:

Marisa Antos-Fallon, Complex Commercial Litigation, New York: Focuses on commercial disputes and securities litigation in federal and state court, as well as internal investigations, and counsels clients in connection with regulatory investigations and inquiries by the SEC, FINRA and other agencies.

Mike Bielby, Finance, Dallas: Represents commercial banks, private equity firms, other institutional investors and public and private borrowers in connection with senior secured credit facilities and mezzanine, second lien and other hybrid debt facilities in a variety of industries.

James Brown, Mergers and Acquisitions and Capital Markets, Houston: Focuses on corporate finance and securities law, including securities offerings, private equity, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate representation.

Grace Ho, Employment, Labor & OSHA, Houston: Advises and represents employers on all aspects of employment and labor law in business transactions, day-to-day operations, administrative law proceedings and litigation, including issues relating to internal investigations, transnational employee mobility, protection of trade secrets, restrictive covenants, whistleblower protections, anti-discrimination, leaves and wage and hour laws.

Josh Johnson, Appellate, Washington, D.C.: Represents clients in appellate litigation, previously serving in the Appellate Section of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Criminal Division and as a law clerk for Judge Nancy Gertner (District of Massachusetts), Judge David S. Tatel (D.C. Circuit) and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (U.S. Supreme Court).

Jordan Leu, Complex Commercial Litigation, Dallas: Focuses on professional liability, bankruptcy litigation and the representation of financial institutions and their executives in civil, administrative and regulatory disputes.

Sarah Mitchell, Complex Commercial Litigation, Dallas: Represents companies in complex commercial litigation, with significant experience representing policyholders with respect to insurance coverage and indemnification matters, including advising on the insurance aspects of corporate transactions and ways to enhance coverage in connection with policy placements and policy renewals.

Lindsey Vaala, Complex Commercial Litigation, Washington, D.C.: Represents companies and individuals in a variety of proceedings and areas with an emphasis on competition matters, including multijurisdictional antitrust investigations, class action defense, grand jury proceedings and government investigations, trade secret matters and antitrust matters involving intellectual property.
