The National Black Lawyers Announces Five V&E Lawyers as Top 100 and Top 40 Under 40 Members

The National Black Lawyers recently named Vinson & Elkins partners Gillian Hobson and Patrick Gadson to its list of Top 100 Black Lawyers in the U.S. Counsel Quentin Smith, senior associate Carla Jordan-Detamore and associate Princess Fuller were named to the organization’s Top 40 Under 40 Black Lawyers list.

Hobson, a member of V&E’s Management Committee and co-chair of the firmwide Diversity Council, practices corporate finance and securities law and is based in Houston.

Gadson, co-head of the firm’s Shareholder Activism practice, also focuses on private equity and mergers and acquisitions and serves as an office lead for V&E’s Diversity Council in New York.

Smith, who is a commercial litigator focused on business, petrochemical and energy disputes, is also an office lead for the firm’s Diversity Council in Houston and co-lead of the firm’s Black Affinity Network.

Jordan-Detamore’s practice primarily focuses on white collar criminal defense, government investigations, class action defense and civil litigation. She is based in Washington, D.C. and serves as co-head of the firm’s Women of Color Network and Black Affinity Network.

Based in New York, Fuller’s principal areas of practice are project development, project financings, joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions, and she is a member of the firm’s Diversity Council.

The National Black Lawyers is a professional honorary organization established to promote the nation’s top black attorneys and to enhance the professional development of its members. Selection for inclusion in The National Black Lawyers Top 100 and Top 40 Under 40 is an honor given to a select group of lawyers who have demonstrated superior skills in their fields of law or who have excelled in areas promoting diversity.
