Sumitomo Forestry America to Acquire Crescent Communities
Vinson & Elkins advised Sumitomo Forestry America, Inc. in connection with its definitive agreement with Crescent Communities, LLC under which Crescent Communities’ three key businesses will be acquired by Sumitomo.
Sumitomo Forestry Group has its roots in forest ownership and its management. The company owns over 118,500 acres of forest in mountains across the country in Japan and is Japan’s third largest private land owner. The company’s business expanded to include importing, trading and distributing timber and wood based products, as well as single-family homebuilding and other housing related businesses.
