Nick Shum and Craig Zieminski Receive Texas Lawyer 2021 “On the Rise” Awards
Shum and Zieminski are among 27 Texas attorneys named in the category, which honors the most promising lawyers under the age of 40 in the state.
Shum, a partner in Vinson & Elkins’ energy litigation practice group based in Houston, has extensive experience litigating contract and other complex commercial disputes for upstream, midstream, and oilfield services companies.
He has tried a range of commercial cases and, in recent years, has obtained jury verdicts of $96 million (net) and $60 million (net) and a take-nothing arbitration award on multi-million dollar claims for energy industry clients.
Zieminski, a partner and member of the firm’s complex commercial litigation group in Dallas, represents companies and their directors in lawsuits brought by Delaware stockholders, Master Limited Partnership unitholders and deal partners. He has significant experience in a variety of M&A litigation matters, including lawsuits alleging breaches of fiduciary duties, partnership agreement duties, merger agreements and federal securities laws.
Zieminski was most recently among the team of trial lawyers who obtained a trial victory in Delaware class action litigation challenging the $18 billion merger between Regency Energy Partners, LP and Energy Transfer Partners, LP. This was Craig’s fourth Delaware Court of Chancery trial success in the past five years.
