Nick Henchie and Louise Woods Named to Inaugural Legal 500 (Legalease, Ltd.) International Arbitration Powerlist: United Kingdom
Henchie and Woods, based in V&E’s London office, are among a select group of leading practitioners in the UK honored by Legal 500 for their “outstanding … knowledge of, particular jurisdictions,” according to Legal 500 publishing director, David Burgess.
“[O]ur congratulations to everyone who is recognized in this publication – London is still recognized as the preferred seat of arbitration globally, and the individuals in here represent the finest that London has to offer,” Burgess said.
Henchie, who Legal 500 notes “has acted on some of the most complex and high-profile construction-related disputes of recent years,” leads V&E’s highly rated International Construction group. He has a wide range of experience focusing on international arbitration and dispute resolution of major construction and engineering disputes all over the world, particularly in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
Woods is likewise recognized by Legal 500 for her role in several “high value, complex commercial and investor state arbitrations” and work with clients and counsel “from a wide range of geographies, cultures and industry sectors.” As a core member of the firm’s international dispute resolution practice group, Woods focuses her practice on international commercial arbitration and investor-state disputes. A significant proportion of her more recent experience has had Africa or Latin America connections. Woods is currently serving a second term on the board of ArbitralWomen, a non-profit organization for the promotion of women and diversity in international arbitration.
