Louise Woods Appointed Vice President of ArbitralWomen's Board of Directors

Louise Woods

Louise Woods, a partner in Vinson & Elkins’ London office, has been reappointed to ArbitralWomen’s Board of Directors and will serve as Vice President for the 2020-22 term.

In this role, Woods also will assume the role of Chair of Young ArbitralWomen Practitioners, ArbitralWomen’s young practitioner group.

ArbitralWomen is an international non-governmental organization for the promotion of women and diversity in international dispute resolution. For the past 27 years, ArbitralWomen has developed many programs and opportunities to support and promote women in international dispute resolution as well serving as a leader in the efforts to overcome gender bias in the legal profession.

“I am thrilled to have been selected to serve as Vice President this term and look forward to continuing the important work that ArbitralWomen does. I am joined on the Board by some very accomplished women whom I have no doubt will contribute enormously to our efforts,” Woods said.

Woods has significant experience in arbitration and litigation of high value, complex international commercial disputes and investor-state arbitration. She is admitted in England and Wales as a Solicitor-Advocate and regularly appears as an advocate before international arbitration tribunals.

More on Woods’ efforts to champion women in international dispute resolution can be found in the V&E+ article, “Elevating Women in Arbitration.”
