Vinson & Elkins advised Jera Asset Management, a national real estate investment firm focused on properties that are net-leased to quality credit tenants, in a strategic joint venture with an institutional client of Invesco Real Estate, a global real estate investment manager, to form Mercury Trust to take advantage of the strong industrial markets.

Mercury Trust was seeded with nearly $500 million of assets throughout the country that have been acquired or are under contract to be acquired or developed in the near future. Invesco Real Estate’s institutional client made a significant equity contribution, together with a significant commitment for investment in future property acquisitions and developments through Mercury Trust. Mercury Trust has also obtained a credit facility totaling $675 million for current and future acquisitions and developments.

The V&E team was led by corporate partner Daniel LeBey, with assistance from associates Tyler Johnson and Glen Taylor and senior staff attorney Ashton Harris, and by real estate partner Wally Schwartz, with assistance from senior associate Naheem Harris and associate Michael Svetich. Also advising were partner Chris Mangin, senior associate Paige Anderson and associate Dan Henderson on the tax aspects of the transaction.
