James Loftis and Louise Woods Named to Inaugural Lawdragon Global Litigation 500

Vinson & Elkins partners James Loftis and Louise Woods have been named to the inaugural Lawdragon Global Litigation 500.

The Global Litigation 500 guide features attorneys who specialize in international arbitration, public international litigation and global controversies. Members were selected via independent research, nominations and input from editorial advisors.

Loftis, head of V&E’s International Dispute Resolution practice, focuses on the arbitration and litigation of international commercial and investor-state disputes and counsels in matters involving public international law and treaties. He handles disputes involving all aspects of energy, construction and infrastructure development; disputes under investment laws and treaties; and boundary disputes, cross-border technology disputes and sovereign debt.

Woods’ practice focuses on international commercial arbitration and commercial litigation. Her experience includes arbitration under all the major institutional arbitration rules, as well as ad hoc proceedings. Woods also acts for clients in investor-state disputes. She has experience across a number of sectors, in particular in energy and natural resources and financial services. Woods also works in support of greater diversity in arbitration. She serves as vice-president of ArbitralWomen, a nonprofit that supports the promotion of women in international dispute resolution.
