Coming from Hogan Lovells, the lateral hires join a growing top-ranked practice with a reputation for excellence in international construction arbitration proceedings. “Our London International Construction Disputes team has a reputation worldwide, Roberta and Angus add to what is already a strength of the firm,” said Vinson & Elkins chairman Mark Kelly. “Celebrating 50 years in London, we continue to expand and evolve to offer a full-service team of lawyers working across a range of practices and industries.”

Downey joins with experience handling large arbitrations and highly technical disputes arising out of petrochemical facilities, power plants, LNG facilities, offshore wind, engineering support services, rail infrastructure, telecommunications, waste water treatment and recycling facilities, and automated equipment and control systems. On joining Vinson & Elkins she remarks: “The combination of our two individually strong teams into a single force will create a real construction powerhouse, and we are tremendously excited about the future.”
