David Meyer Among 2017 “Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyers”
Vinson & Elkins partner David Meyer has been named a 2017 “Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyer” by Turnarounds & Workouts (Beard Group, Inc.). The select list, which features only 12 lawyers throughout the United States, recognized attorneys under age 40 who work on the industry’s most prominent restructurings.
Meyer is recognized for his work on behalf of Energy XXI, Goodrich Petroleum Corporation and Sundevil Power Holdings, as well as representations for a confidential bidder in SunEdison’s restructuring and the Houston Astros in connection with an involuntary chapter 11 case commenced against the Houston Regional Sports Network and the launch of Root Sports Southwest.
A partner in V&E’s New York office, Meyer’s practice involves representing debtors, creditors, equity holders and investors in all aspects of complex corporate restructurings including chapter 11 cases, out-of-court restructurings and special situation investments and acquisitions. Super Lawyers has named Meyer to the New York Rising Stars List from 2014–2016 in the area of bankruptcy and creditor rights for his restructuring practice.
