Carla Jordan-Detamore Receives American Bar Association’s On The Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers Award
Vinson & Elkins senior associate Carla Jordan-Detamore has been recognized among the American Bar Association’s (ABA) On The Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers.
ABA’s On The Rise award program recognizes young lawyers for their exemplary work in innovation, vision, leadership and legal and community service. Recipients will be honored during ABA’s Annual Meeting in August.
Jordan-Detamore’s practice focuses on white collar defense, government investigations and civil litigation. She is heavily involved in diversity and inclusion efforts and mentoring initiatives including as co-lead of V&E’s Women of Color Network and its Black Affinity Network, founder of a 1L mentoring program with George Washington’s Black Law Students Association, City Co-Lead for The Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s Law School Mentoring Program, and a past president of the Greater Washington Area Chapter of the Women Lawyers Division of the National Bar Association. Jordan-Detamore is also heavily involved in pro bono, serving on the Legal Advisory Committee of the Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights Coalition and the DC Bar Foundation’s Young Lawyers Network Leadership Council.
