Considerations for U.S. Companies When Conducting a Global Reduction in Force
When a U.S. employer conducts global layoffs, it is important that the employer understands how laws and procedures work in each jurisdiction where the employees reside. Most jurisdictions, for example, are not “employment at will” meaning employees have individual employment rights arising under contract, statute or custom and practice.
